Vegetable poem

 Hey Readers!

Last week in Miss McLeod's writing group we got to write a vegetable or flower poem to get entered into the flower festival. The first thing we did was  look at some examples of poems, and we also got to comment on something we realised about the poems. Then we planned what we were going to use in our poem. For the first poem I chosse to do it about a cucumber, but the thing is  I could only submit one. Planing about the vegetable was challenging at first but once I got help from Miss Cornish ( Student Teacher) I got the hang of it. It took me awhile to figure out what type of poem I wanted to do for the cucumber. In the end I chosse to submit my what am I poem because that's what most people enjoyed. Editing the poems were easy, picking which poem I wanted was tricky because they were both really amazing,

The first phone that existed

This term in Miss McLeods writing group we have been working on doing infomation reports. First we got to see some choices of things in from prehistoric times. My two choices I choose from was type writters and the first phone, but I choose to do the first phone. Next I did a burger plan of some  research of the first phone. Then we had one week to finish all of the research. After that week we started doing our writing. Once I finished doing my writing paragraphs,  after I did my councluson. After that I did my blogging, doing the councluson was challenging because I mostly added alot of infomation into my other bits. Everything else was quite easy. 

"Catch It"

Kia Ora Readers, last week in Mrs Jones writing group we write about some meerkats. Here is the link to the video we got our inspiration from: Catch it. Once we watched the video we did a plan, then we did our writing. My favorite part was watching the video. My less favorite thing was doing the plan. Please comment.

Teeth Writing

Hey readers, this week I have been writing about teeth. First we watched a video together then we did a plan. After that  we got to start our writing. When I did my writing I kind of forgot what was on the video so I watched it again. 

Once I watched the video I got onto my writing. My favorite part of the video was when the guy who I call fred put his teeth into the fish's mouth. My less favorite part was doing the plan because I didn't have any ideas.

Snowie The Snow Leopard

Hey readers, today I decided to do a story scramble, story scramble is a app that can give you story starters. And you can pick what you want to put it on, you can also add a drawing. So first I clicked on the link here it is if you want to try it : Story Scramble, then it took me a while to choose which one I wanted to write about it says : write a tv commercial advertising a young snow leopard who discovers a new city  , next I picked out what wanted to write it on I choose newspaper. Then I started writing, after that I did a drawing for it. Here is some screenshots of my steps and work.

                           

My favorite part was doing the writing my less favorite thing was making the drawing because I didn't really liked how it looked like. Feel free to comment. 

Here is some info about covid 19

                           As you may or might not know all schools in new zealand has closed down because of the coronavirus and we are level 4 now so that's what level means to do which is lock all schools down in nz. So my teachers at my school have set up some  activities so we don't lose our great ejucation.

Space writing

Hey readers,This week in literacy we have being learning about  space, and we had to  do some  writing about a planet . And I choose to do it about  Saturn rings , cause i'm most interested in
Saturn .  What was hard was finding facts about it , what I found easy was  writing about what I thought  it was .

Harry!!! I arrived in space ,Now let's explore,First let’s find out some facts about it , first let’s see what is smells , in my opinion, it smells like rainbow ring candy. They seem very thick but up close the rings are very thin, I think it is made out of chunks of ice  from Antarctica cause it seems to look kinda icy. I hear weird noises from the planet and rings knocking together. I'm Proud to be in space !!! facts: Most of the rings are made out of water and ice,the colors of rings are pink ,yellow , blue , green, icy blue.I think Saturn is made out of  rocks and other stuff similar . I tried to go on the rings but I kept on bouncing. I wonder if it will taste like candy.

This week for literacy  we have been doing a color poem, it was quiet fun and a tiny bit hard cause we had to make a plan with words to put in sentences,

we used words to make a sentence,what I found challenging was  putting words into sentences ,what  I found easy was finding words for the sentences .

Today the 19th of March 2019 ,in punui-o toka  we have been doing a kindness poem ,we had to  write at less 10 sentences ,
we got into groups of three and made a brainstorm about kindness , one of my ideas were giving gifts to others, what I   found easy was brainstorming  , what I found challenging was writing it. feel free to give me some feedback here's my writing

Letter to Mrs Claus

For Literacy this week we have being watching a  video about  this   little  boy  who is really annoying and he let his family dog chew his sisters shoes and then he decided to forgive himself and wrote a letter to Mrs Claus, asking for something really special for his sister because his dog ate his sisters shoes. She got really upset and on christmas day she found a present from her brother and Mrs Claus with some brand new shoes in it. She was then really happy and she gave her little brother a really massive hug. So my teacher Mrs Jack, gave us some options out of writing a letter to Mrs Claus, or to write about the story. I decided to write a letter to Mrs Claus, here is my letter.

My  Name is Jordan I think I have being good  this year so far .
I am 9 years old . I love to go  swimming ,spending time with
family , giving christmas cards to people Because  it's really
special to me . far I have being  getting a dollar a day.
 Im saving up to get Christmas presents for my  family .
For christmas can  I please  a good and not bad elf
on the shelf  thats a girl I promise I won't touch it ,

can  I also please have a large Squeezemals dog.
Also can  I please have A skateboard , and some safety equipment  .
