Hello Readers!!

This week in wananga we have been writing stories. One writing activity was to write a christmas story.  We started off by choosing a inspiration image to write about. I choose to write about a golden retriever.  My story is called "Christmas Miracles." At first the activity was a little bit difficult but in the end I managed to use my imagination and my a unique story. The task was quite easy to do. I hope you enjoy my story. Bai Yun Reunites

 Hello Readers!

For the past few weeks, I've been writing part two of Bai Yun. This time it is more amusing and includes more fantasy. I used Grammarly to help me write this story and make sure the story made sense. The easiest part of using grammarly was fixing my mistakes. Another website I used to help me is called thesaurus. It's a website that tells you words you can use instead of using a boring words. For example, you can use spoken instead of said. 

After I finished part two of Bai Yun I read it to make sure it made sense.  Next time I'm going to try to include more unique words. Cause I didn't get the best score for it. Thinking of ideas was complicated for me. Re-reading my story to fix any mistakes was effortless for me. I hope you enjoyed my blog post.

  Bai Yun Reunites One mysterious day Bai -Yun had a feeling something interesting was going to happen. So she starts exploring as she does every day. Suddenly this magical portal appeared. This portal leads to a world called Palanda. Palanda is a world not like any other world. It doesn't matter what size, shape, or form you are, everyone's included. As the sun rises in Palanda, every panda wakes up and says a traditional prayer to have a long, happy life. Among the seas of Palanda there are three different types of boats. Blue boat to travel, to collect food you use a brown boat and purple boat for rescue uses. Bai -Yun decided she wanted to travel across the sea to find some friends. Bai-Yun enters the blue boat and finds two pandas who seem friendly there named Ling-Ling and Po. They are both females and come from the east side of Palanda. Ling Ling begins to introduce herself; she is from the east-west of Palanda, her family are fashion designers. Po acquaints herself. She says she is from the south-east of Palanda. Po's family creates art. Finally, Bai -Yun introduces herself Bai-Yun says; she is from the earth and transported to Palanda from a portal. Ling-Ling was very curious about Bai Yun. So she began asking questions about why Bai Yun came to Palanda. " Do you have any family here?" Ling-Ling asks. " My mother once said I have two siblings who live in another world. It might be this world I am trying to look for them." Po joins the conversation, " that is genuinely interesting. Are we able to help?" " Yes, you are. You guys will make it way easier for me to find my long-lost siblings. The boat arrives at a destination. This place is extraordinarily unique to Palanda because it has the most beautiful views and delightful food. Po is very familiar with this city because this is where she got raised. They exit and spot a restaurant. It's called " Foo San," It's the restaurant Po used to go to for every celebration. Food comes to the table and looks ambrosial. After they take their first bite, they can't stop. The food is spectacular and delicious. Po spots her favorite mall and tells the others. Then they walk to the mall in excitement. Bai Yun enters the mall first because she is thrilled. The first store they all spot is a store full of teddies! Ling-Ling loves teddies so do the others Ling-Ling ran into the store with excitement. She spots two pandas looking at purple dinosaur teddies. Both of the pandas look similar to Bai Yun. So she asks them what their names are. The male panda says his name is Tai Shan the female says her name is Mei Lan. " Do you guys have any other siblings?" asks Ling-Ling. " Yes, and we're trying to find them," says Mei Lan. " Oh, I have a friend who is also trying to find her siblings as well. Do you know your long-lost sibling's name?" Says Ling- Ling. " Yeah, her name is Bai Yun," says Tai Shan. " That is the name of my friend. Do you want to meet her?" "Of course we do," says the long-lost siblings. Tai Shan and Mei Lan go to look for Bai Yun. Mei Lan finds Bai Yun and tells her that they are siblings. Bai Yun is astonished that she finally met her long-lost siblings she's been trying to find. Both Mei Lan and Tai Shan are thrilled to be together forever.

Writing to My Hero

Kia Ora Readers! 

At the start of this term in hurumanu 1 we have been learning about heroes. We learn't who heroes are and how we can become a hero. One thing that I learnt about during hurumanu 1 was that you don't need a cape to be a hero. Any ways... for our task we had to write a pretend email on a google doc to the hero we wrote a story about.  We had to make sure we included three questions which would be answered in more than one sentence.

 As well as that we needed to included why they became your hero and good ways of explaining. Before I begun writing the pretend email I thought about how I would begin my email  to Mr Beast, (one of my heroes) and how I would explain why he is my hero. Once I finished doing that I started writing the start of the email it was a little bit tricky at first but once I  got more ideas it was easier. 

Writing the email to my hero took me about three days to complete because I kept changing the wording and  fixing the bad punctuation. Have you ever written a pretend email to someone you look up to?

My Hero

Hey Readers! 

Throughout three weeks in my hurumanu class we have been learning about heroes and how anyone can be a hero if they try hard. For the first week we got a piece of paper that had some tasks to do. We had to think of some superpowers our hero can do, what they look like, and a name for the hero. I choose to call my hero weather woman she can change the weather, teleport, and becoming anything. The week after that we learn't about traits, traits are what makes someone a hero. A week later we started writing about someone who we look up to as a hero. The first task we did was find four heroes we look up to and write it down on a sticky note and then write about the four heroes we found. After that we had to make a google doc and start writing  about our hero we also got to research about our person. My person was Mr Beast I think he is my hero because he helps people with food and money and posts YouTube videos about it. It took me about a week to finish my writing but I made sure everything made sense. My favourite part about doing this activity was learning about different heroes and what they do. Describe a moment in time

Hey Readers!

For the past few weeks in Miss McLeod's we have been doing describe a moment in time to get ready for our e-asttle test at the end of this term.  First Miss McLeod modelded the the introduction then I made a copy of a document that we used for our writing. After that I started my introduction which included the setting, sencers etc. The following week we started our first and secound paragraph, and for each paragraph it needed to be based of one sencer for each one.  Now today we started our concluson to end our story then I self checked, buddie check, then finally showed it to Mrs Harris.  What I found hard was doing my concluson because I wasn't really sure what to put in it. What I found easy was doing my introduction because I got to describe the setting etc. Mrs Harris said I could blog it so here is the result!

Metaphors with Miss Hodgson

Today with Miss Hodgson/ Miss H for Miss McLeod's writing we have been doing a Metaphor mini lesson. First we looked at the mini lesson slide, that explained what metaphors are. In the mini lesson it also had some pictures that we used to make some sentences.  After that I made a copy of the document  Miss McLeod gave us to do. Not using as or like was very tricky because I use those words quite alot in my writing. Thinking of sentences was easy but it took me a while to get it right.

Hey Readers!

In  the past weeks  in Miss McLeods litreacy  we have been doing persuasive and learning about opinons, first we choose our option of what we wanted to use to persuade. Next Miss Mcleod showed us an example of a persusave text, then we went to do our plan that had imfomation about a topic. The following week we started our introduction we looked at the modelling slides and Miss McLeod showed us an example. After that we started doing the introduction I started mine with a rhetorical question which is a question that doesn't need an answer. Then the next week we did our two paragphs by using our plans. A few weeks later we had to finish our writing and some of us did our concluson. 

Doing my concluson was challenging because I was stuck but in the end I understood it. The three paragphs were very easy to do because I could use my own opinon plus some research to back up my opinon. Have you ever done any persusave texts? Have you learn't about opinons before?

How to do a quality Blog Comment

During this week   in Mrs Jones writing we have been working on doing comics. For the first one we had to do it about our bucket lists. For this one we have to do it about how to make a quality blog comment. First we got a peice of paper that had about 13 squares and write what the charcteres are going to say. Once we finished that we needed to make a comic and title it. Then add charcteres, after that I added all the text.  We did this on pixton by the way here is the link to pixton if you want to try this out: pixton.

My Bucket list (Comic)

Hey readers!

This week in Mrs Jones Writing group, when we finished our pick-a-path we had to go onto pixton then make a avatar. Here is the link to pixton if you have never used pixton before:Pixton. When we finished our avatar we had to follow the steps on the site. First it said to make a comic then name it  your Name bucket list. After that we needed to select what type of comic we wanted, we had to pick bucket list. Once I finished that I added my characters, then my words. After that I added all the finishing touches, then showed Mrs Jones.  Then I had to do a quality blog post, my comic will be linked bellow.

Pick-a-path

Hey Readers in  mrs Jones writing we have been learning about how to make a pick-a-path. First we had to do a plan on a spread sheet. Then once we finished our plan we transfured it onto a slide show, then when we did that we had to learn how to add all the links. After that we had to add some images and make sure that it all make sence and has capital letters and full stops.  My pick-a-path is about hommer simpson.

Pick-a-path plan

Hey readers!

During last week we were focusing on doing a pick-a-path. First Mrs Jones showed us a example of one, then  the next day with Miss H we started our pick-a-path brainstorm. We cared on doing our brain storm until about the next Tuesday. When the Tuesday of the second week had came we started doing a proper plan on a google sheet.  The google sheet was tricky to do, because the writing got lost.  On the Tuesday Miss H  was teaching us, so she didn't really know what to do. And then on Wednesday Mrs Jones helped us.

Today I was finishing of my plan, and I was up to section 14,  before I started section 15 I wasn't quite sure what to do after that bit. So I emailed Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones said that I only needed to do section 15 because were starting our proper pick-a-path this coming week. I will add my 2 plans bellow.

Today I finshied my writing, so first we watched a video about a mouse and a old man. After that we did a brainstorm, here is the link to the brainstorm: Brainstorm. Today with Mrs Jones in writing we had our secound to last writing, for during quarintine. We watched the video first, then we waited for everyone to finsh watching it. Once we all finished watching it we did our plan. After that we started our writing. After the call I keeped on doing my writing, then once I finished doing my writing I emailed it to Mrs Jones.

PIC-LITS- What's this Wednesday

Today with Miss Williamson for what's this Wednesday we got to go onto PIC-LITS. So first Miss Williamson showed us how to do the writing and stuff on the website. Dust Buddies

Hey Readers!

Today in Mrs Jones writing group we had a challenge, the challenge is ever writing session we have to write about something new. And just for this week because it is our last week of doing narratives.  So we had to watch a video about these dust buddies, and I like to call them dust bunnies because they look like bunnies.
