HockeyπŸ‘

 Kia Ora Readers!

This term in p.e with Miss Bancroft we have learnt skills of different types of sports. One sport we learn't is hockey, it is played with a stick with a bottom curve and a hockey ball.  The equipment used in hockey to protect yourself is: shin guards and a mouth guard. I learnt how to score a goal, how to take control of the ball and how to pass to others without making the ball go the other direction and dribbling . . The rules of hockey are : you cannot use any other parts of your body to control the ball apart from your hands to control the stick, you cannot put the stick over your head and push don't hit. The potions of hockey are goal keeper, left and right defence, attackers and middle attack.

Have you ever played Hockey before?

Bird Masks ( Drama)

 Hey Readers!

In drama we have been making bird masks and acting like birds. We have also been starting to learn about the movement and emotions. Next we got into groups of four or three and thought about the movements, the people in my group were ... Hollie. E, Venice, Amanda and me.

We all had to think about our movement plan and how we would move around the space then act out with each other. Since me and Hollie were both flightless birds we started acting out first, then Amanda and Venice came around us with their movements and sounds. Venice is a barn owl for her act, Amanda is a We had also finished our masks already so we didn't need to do anything around that. But next time I need to add some elastic to make it fit my head. Have you ever experienced acting before?

Here is Hollie and my bird mask mine is the penguin Hollie's is the kiwi.

Year 7/8 drama

Ni hoa ( hello)  Readers this year the year 7/8 have been learning how to do drama and the movements in drama. We learn't some games that help us with the movement in drama, the first game we learn't how to play was 16/16 circle were we take 16 steps turn and do a certain amount of steps then turn again and once we finish doing all the steps we turn to the middle.  Another game was listening to what the teacher says then doing the movements, what we did was jump, walk, clap, and freeze. Yesterday we had to get into groups of four (my group was Amanda, Hollie, Venice and me), get each other into a diamond shape then Mrs Clark ( drama teacher) told people from each part of the diamond to do a certain movement everyone in the groups had to copy the leader. Each person in the groups got at least two turns, once all the groups got the hang of it we had to create any dance but it the diamond shape we had to rotate to an edge to be able to lead our group we had 10 minutes to make the dance and make sure we knew what to do. My group went second to last we choose our music and started, I started the dance and my group followed the movements I did I sort of forgot what moves I was supposed to do so I made it up on the spot. Once we finished our dance Hollie and my group went down the stairs together and went to go sit down. Have you ever experienced drama?

Here is something my drama group had to look at:
