D.L.O ( Digital learning object) about habitat destruction

 Hello my fellow readers! 

This term in Mrs Jones inqury group we have been foucsing on endangered animals. The first thing we did was watch videos about endangered animals and what has happened. Next we  learn't how animals get endangered. After that we looked at imformation about endangered animals and we had to do a slideshow about endangered animals. for the last two weeks we have been learning about habitat destruction, and  making a D.L.O ( digital learning object) about habitat destruction and facts about it. We needed to include how habitat destruction is caused, what will effects does it give to the habitats, etc. Once we finished our D.L.O ( digital learning object) we need to blog! What I found challenging was adding lots of detail, making sure everthing  made since was very easy.  Have you ever made a D.L.O ( digital learning object) before?

Measuring in Maths

 Hey Readers!

During this week in homerooms for maths we have been doing measuring and capasity. For the first day we got to use glasses and add water and after that we checked how much water there was by using measuring cups.  We did that type of measuring for a week then last week we had to make a slide and name it Measuring. It had to include the steps we used and a graph we made etc. The hardest part about the measuring trying to measuring how much was really in the cups that we used and something else which is in the slide.  Making the slide was easy because I only needed to write what we did etc. Have you done slides before?

Year 6 P.E

Hey Readers!

 Today for the year 6 p.e with Mrs Jones, Miss Mcclelland and Miss Williamson. First we lined up to go into the hall as we got into the hall we got put into two teams. The first game we played was paper siccors where you run up to a person from the other team and do rock paper sicors and if you win that bit you go to the next person once you reach the last person to vrs and you win you get your team a point. Then we played sharks and islands so theres two sharks and there is multiple islands.  When you go into a island you get protected from the sharks and when someone else goes into the island that your in you go to another island if you get tagged by a shark your then a shark.  After that we played a really fun game called Animal crossing where you walk to a hoop and walk like any animal. My favourite game was Animal crossing because it was fun watching others do the different animal walking. Three videos of doing the animal crossing will be down bellow.

Te reo Moari video/ greetings

 Kia Ora readers!

During this term for Te reo moari in Homerooms we have been doing greetings.  First Mrs Jones set us a task to do a video with a buddie and use some of the greetings we have learn't. We got into buddies, my buddie was my best friend Bella. Next Bella and I wrote down what we wanted to say in the video. Then I got my chromebook and Bella and I started filming it took us two or three tries but we got there in the end. After we finished we told Mrs Jones and she said we needed to blog. Sorry if i've posted this a bit late but here is the end result. You can't really see our faces but you can here our voices.

Skip Counting Challenge!!!

Today in Mrs Jones Maths we had our first day of Term Three, and for today we had to do a "Skip counting challenge. First Mrs Jones welcomed everyone, then she talked about all of the groups there was a mult/divid groups which we work together with.  (I was in group winter)  After that she talked about what all the groups were doing. My group was independent so for our indenpendent actvity Mrs Jones first showed us a screen-castify (it explanend what we needed to do). 

What I needed to do was make a google drawing and call it "Skip Counting Challenge." Then make a brain tesser and to get the answer you had to make sure that it's in times tabels. Once we all knew what to do Mrs Jones told us to go get our chromebooks and start working. I next started working I added the title. When I finished adding the title I added some images of cats because we had to add a image to help kids figure out the question.

I chose to use my twos so first I made the cats small. Then made them into groups of two, after that I duplacated the groups to how much I needed. Once I finished everything I counted the groups of two and wrote down the total of cats there were in my head.  What I found hard was doing the cat part.  What I found easy was watching the screencastify.

How to do a quality Blog Comment

During this week   in Mrs Jones writing we have been working on doing comics. For the first one we had to do it about our bucket lists. For this one we have to do it about how to make a quality blog comment. First we got a peice of paper that had about 13 squares and write what the charcteres are going to say. Once we finished that we needed to make a comic and title it. Then add charcteres, after that I added all the text.  We did this on pixton by the way here is the link to pixton if you want to try this out: pixton.

My Bucket list (Comic)

Hey readers!

This week in Mrs Jones Writing group, when we finished our pick-a-path we had to go onto pixton then make a avatar. Here is the link to pixton if you have never used pixton before:Pixton. When we finished our avatar we had to follow the steps on the site. First it said to make a comic then name it  your Name bucket list. After that we needed to select what type of comic we wanted, we had to pick bucket list. Once I finished that I added my characters, then my words. After that I added all the finishing touches, then showed Mrs Jones.  Then I had to do a quality blog post, my comic will be linked bellow.

Pick-a-path

Hey Readers in  mrs Jones writing we have been learning about how to make a pick-a-path. First we had to do a plan on a spread sheet. Then once we finished our plan we transfured it onto a slide show, then when we did that we had to learn how to add all the links. After that we had to add some images and make sure that it all make sence and has capital letters and full stops.  My pick-a-path is about hommer simpson.

Mac & Cheese Pleeeze! - Epic quiz

Hey readers!
Today we have done our first epic quiz for being back at school. This story this time is is called:  Mac & Cheese Pleeze, the story is about a girl who is at a school that is doing this election about school lunch. And each child got to pick any favorite food they liked to make for lunch.

The main character was called Catlin. Once I finished the book I did the quiz I tried to remeber what the  answer was.  After the quiz I felt very happy because I got 100% yay!!! Heres the link to epic: Epic.

A comic poem- Last reading hangout in lockdown

Hey Readers!
Today for our last reading hangout in lockdown we had to read a poem then do a quiz. first Mrs Jones read us the poem. Then we had to do the quiz. After that we needed to read on epic or play reading games.  Once we all finished we got told our results, I got 11 out of 12 I got one wrong but I can learn that from next time. Please comment.

Today in Mrs Jones reading hangout we read a story about people who got stuck at the airport. First Mrs Jones read the story next we did the quiz. Once we did the quiz we got the choice to read on epic or play reading games. My favorite part of this activity was doing the quiz. We had 11 questions to ansrew. And I got 11 out of 11. Box- last writing during lockdown

Today I finshied my writing, so first we watched a video about a mouse and a old man. After that we did a brainstorm, here is the link to the brainstorm: Brainstorm. Last Math post in lockdown

Hey Readers!
Today In Mrs Jones hangout we had our last lesson of math in lockdown. So first we did a quiz about how much we now know about time. And I got one wrong out of 9 I think I got one wrong because it was a bit tricky.  after that we played a game of bingo. This type of bingo is with time and Mrs Jones calls a time out. And if we have the time we cover it up with a shape. So first we had to go on the first slide, next we  wrote our name on a slide number.

Today with Mrs Jones in writing we had our secound to last writing, for during quarintine. We watched the video first, then we waited for everyone to finsh watching it. Once we all finished watching it we did our plan. After that we started our writing. After the call I keeped on doing my writing, then once I finished doing my writing I emailed it to Mrs Jones.

Small Sual ( Finnal quiz for reading)

Today in Mrs Jones reading group we had our last epic quiz. So for our last epic quiz we read a book about a boy called Small sual who wanted to be a pirate. Once I finished reading the book I tried to remeber what happened. Then we had to wait for everyone to finish reading, I then did the quiz. I found the quiz a bit tricky, and I got 2 questions wrong. I got 84 out of 100.

After we blogged this we needed to read for 30 minutes.
