Back to School 😟🏫

 Hello Everyone!

After 3 weeks of online learning we are finally back to school. The only difference is we have to social distance and sanitise. I feel very anxious about being back at school. While I was at home I was very bored because I could only do google meets. It's good to be back at school and seeing my friends. During lock down I was doing quite a lot of work and clean my room and house up. I also did some  baking and watercolour art.

The first thing we did when we got to school was talk about what we did in lock down and how we feel back at school. My teacher also told us precautions. We have to follow the rules while we're at school to stay safe and not get sick. So far today has been boring we haven't really being doing much work.

Here are some safety rules you should follow to stay safe:

Cameron LeslieπŸ‰πŸŠπŸΌ‍♂️

 Hello Readers!

Today I completed my final paralympian task. This time instead of using a slide show I decided to use Visme which is  a website similar to canva. I wanted to try something new because using google slideshows gets boring. I found this website from my friends blog so go check out her blog because her work is amazing: Venice. Anyways this website was very easy to use for my first time. For this task I choose Cameron Leslie. He plays wheel chair rugby and also does para swimming. My favourite part about this task was decorating the slide. After I finished the presentation I made sure every thing made sense and made this blog post.

Here is my presentation:

Reading Plus Progress

 Kia Ora Readers!

This week for reading plus I have to do 3 more hours of work on reading plus. So far I have completed 1 hour and 7 minutes of proper work I have 1 hour and 53 minutes more to do on reading plus. Work for me today was easier because I was motivated and had no distractions around me.  My scores on reading plus has improved because I've been reading stories I'm interested in and focused really well.

For Vocabulary I did two lessons and in total got 9 words mastered and 5 words in progress. It is better from when I did it last month on the 13th I got only 6 words mastered and 8 words in progress. For reading I got really good scores I got a combo with the score of 80 percent and 100 percent. I also got 94 on another story but the next story I read I got 58 percent. I think I got 58 on the last story I read because I wasn't really interested in the story. Thank you for reading.

Here is my reflection:

What went well today:

I got one combo with 80 percent and 100 percent.

What I found difficult today:

Vocabulary words

What my goal is for next time:

Think twice before answering vocab questions and get two combos higher than 80 percent.

Tim Prendergast πŸƒπŸ½

Salam (Greetings) Readers!

Today I completed another slideshow about a New Zealand Paralympian. I did it about another male this time because I couldn't find any females I wanted to do a slideshow about. It was very easy for me to complete this slideshow because I used a simple theme and found it easy to get information. This slideshow is about Tim Prendergast. Tim is was a runner for the NZ Paralympics team and competed at four different games. He wasn't the most famous Paralympian but he was a very good runner in deed. I hope you enjoy my slideshow.

Multi-Digit Addition Task 1

 Hello Readers!

This week for maths we have been doing things differently due to lockdown and also to try something new.  Each group got set tasks to do by the 8th of September. My group Waffle's task was to do page one of basic facts, page five and if you want you can try page six.  Waffle also had to watch a video about multi-digit addition. In the video a guy explained how to do addition with the column up method.

In conclusion this work I was set to do by the 8th of September was too easy for me and I already knew how to use method before. Also I thought I was supposed  to do page 2 so it will be including in this post. My group also has another task to do but I will post when I have completed it because I have some other work to do today.

Do you know how to do the column method to add numbers?

Adam Hall ⛷️

 Hello Readers!

Today I have completed another slide show about a paralympian. I choose to do it about Adam Hall who does skiing. For my slide about Adam this time I made the slide not colourful but simple. I had to remove some of the slides because I couldn't find the answer and he didn't do that thing. Even though I knew where to find the answers to my questions already I still had to search up some questions. The hardest part this time was finding a person to make a slide about. This was because the website didn't provide enough information for some of the paralympians. What I found easy was including images and writing information down.

Here is my slideshow:

Thank you for reading my post.

Sophie Pascoe 🏊🏼‍♂️

Kia Ora Readers!

This week for p.e we have been researching about New Zealand paralympians. One paralympian my teacher told my class to research about was Sophie Pascoe. As well as researching about Sophie Poscoe we also had to make a slideshow including facts about her.  Here is a website I used to research about Sophie Pascoe that my teacher recommended: Paralympics New Zealand

This first thing I did was research about Sophie, somethings that I couldn't find on the website I just searched up on google. While I was making this slideshow I thought carefully about how I was answering the questions so that the answers all make sense. After I finished answering all the questions I made sure every answer was detailed. Then I included images and made the slideshow look more attractive to readers.

Here is the slide I made:

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoy my slideshow and enjoyed my blog post.

Reading Plus progress report (during lock down)

 Kia Ora Readers!

During lock down I still have been doing reading plus lessons. I spent three hours on reading plus doing vocabulary and reading. I didn't do my absolute best while working on reading plus. This is probably because I wasn't motivated or in the mood to do work. I had to go into support mode because I was getting scores bellow 80 percent, but I did get a combo in support mode. Next time I will try do the work when I am not tired. Thank you for reading.

Bai Yun the Explorer 🐼

 Hello Readers!

During lock-down I have been writing a story about a panda who discovers a red and white bus. This is activity I choose from the lock-down activities my teacher set my class. I got inspiration from a image of a bus that is red in white covered in green leaves. At first I wasn't really sure what I should write about but then I thought of my favourite animal discovering a bus. So that is why my story is about a panda finding a bus. It took me a long time to find the perfect name for this panda, in the end I decided to name the panda Bai Yun which means white cloud in Chinese and is named after a famous female panda.

If the red  and white bus was your inspiration, what would you write about?

My inspiration:

My writing:

 Bai Yun the explorer 🐼

One dreamy breezy day a young fierce furry female panda was released to the wild. This young chap is named Bai Yun which means white cloud in Chinese, Yun (cloud) for short. Yun loves exploring everything one day when Bai Yun was out with her mother she was observing the different bamboos in the forest. She got inspired and wrote a whole story about the difference between all of the bamboo's sizes and shapes.

On this breezy day Yun was exploring and suddenly noticed a dazzling lingering trail. But what Bai Yun didn’t know was that there are multiple obstacles throughout the trail. As she starts wandering through the trail she suddenly sees the first obstacle but she doesn’t stop she keeps going. The first obstacle hurdles but there is a twist, you have to jump over all of the hurdles in one minute.

Bai Yun begins the obstacle and feels very hysterical and thinks she won’t be able to finish the obstacle on time. 30 seconds later, Yun has gone through half of the hurdles. She now feels more confident in herself and in 50 seconds she manages to go through all of the hurdles.  Five minutes later… Yun comes across the next obstacle. This obstacle seems to be very exotic to yun, because it is a puzzle that you have to solve and she loves to do puzzles and put pieces together.

This obstacle was the last one but this obstacle was not easy, Yun is very good at solving puzzles but this puzzle isn’t like any other puzzle. To be able to solve this puzzle you have to work out a riddle. Bai Yun thought this would be as hard as a rock. The riddle was easier than she thought. You only had to unscramble the letters to create a sentence; it was as easy as buttering toast. As Bai Yun initiated the actual puzzle she felt tormented about what was going to happen when she reaches the end of the trail.

Finally, Yun consummates the trail and discovers this interesting long red and white thing on wheels that she has never seen before. Bai Yun suddenly gets the urge to go into this thing that she has never seen before. As she wanders into the thing she sees a sign saying bus so now she found out that this thing is a bus. Inside of this bus, there is a comfy bed that has very soft and snug pillows. However, this bus isn’t just a normal bus, this bus has been here for thirteen years.

Many people would believe that this is just a bus abandoned but it is a part of history. Bai Yun thinks that this bus is extremely precious and has made herself at home. Especially since it has everything you need to survive even an aggregate pantry of food. At the end of the day, Bai Yun was very ecstatic about what she had found and that she went down the trail.

Gratitude Journal

 Hello Readers!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while this is due to lock down in New Zealand and not having any work to do. But I have finished some work my teacher has set my class to do during this lock down.  There are multiple choices that I got to choose from but I choose a gratitude Journal because it is simple and doesn't take long to do. In the gratitude journal it  includes the amount of sleep you get, a physical activity you did, digital time, something that makes you happy, something that you like about your self and something positive etc. I hope you are doing ok.

What have you been doing?

Here is what I did:

Last Math post in lockdown

Hey Readers!
Today In Mrs Jones hangout we had our last lesson of math in lockdown. So first we did a quiz about how much we now know about time. And I got one wrong out of 9 I think I got one wrong because it was a bit tricky.  after that we played a game of bingo. This type of bingo is with time and Mrs Jones calls a time out. And if we have the time we cover it up with a shape. So first we had to go on the first slide, next we  wrote our name on a slide number.

Then Mrs Jones told us the first time. I got 5 times covered. Please comment down bellow.
