Van Goh๐Ÿ–Œ️๐ŸŽจ

 Kia Ora Readers!

This term in art we have been learning how to do impasto painting. One of our tasks was to research and answer questions about Van Goh. We had to go onto a google doc read the description about Van Goh and go on some websites to find answers to questions. For me it was a little bit tricky to find a answer to the third question because some people had different answers so I was a little confused. But I ended up using my answer I found. I hope you enjoy looking at the answers to the questions!

Answer the following questions and post these to your blog:

  1. What does the word impasto mean? Look up the word in lexipedia.com, then type your answer here:

Impasto means the paintings that show paint strokes from pallet knives and brushes.

  1. How can an impasto brushstrokes express emotions?

It expresses emotions from the texture and how the art looks.

  1. Was Van Gogh one of the first painters to use impasto technique?

No, Van Gogh was not the first painter to use the impasto technique; it was Venetian Renaissance artists Titian and Tintoretto.

  1. When you finish these questions use the information to create a post for your blog about these two paintings.

Thank you for reading my blogpost!

 Research:

Method:

Equipment:

  • Coca-cola
  • Milk๐Ÿฅ›
  • Water
  • Carolina Reaper/sauce ๐ŸŒถ️
  • Popsicle stick
  •  Plastic shot cups๐Ÿฅค
  • Timer ⏲️

Instructions:

  1. Get all of your equipment required.
  2. Scoop some chilli onto your stick.
  3. Start the timer and eat the chilli.
  4. Stop the timer after 4 mins.
  5. Rate how hot your mouth is๐Ÿ”ฅ.
  6. Do experiment again but drink normal water after 2 mins.
  7. Do the experiment again but drink coca-cola after 2 mins.
  8. Drink milk and do the same experiment.
Results๐Ÿ”ฅ:

The  first time I had chilli without anything  it was a rating of 10/10 it was really spicy.

The first time I had chilli with water it was a rating of 6.5/10 it was still a spicy.

The third time I had the chilli with coke  it was a rating of 3.5 it went away faster.

The fourth time I had the chilli with milk it was a rating of 2 I don't really like milk.

Discussion:

Why does chilli burn your mouth?

Chilli burns your mouth from capsaicin which is a which is a oil based molecule. The temperature is what triggers the heat in your mouth. Milk is what mostly helps the burn go away. Water  and soda doesn't really help you.

Why did the milk reduce the burn?

Milk is known as a solution to help the burn from the chilli. Capsaicin is a burning fat, milk fat helps the burn desolve from the chilli. Milk contain a protein called caesin that helps break down the spice.

What is income? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ต

 Greetings readers!

Today in wananga this term for our kete we are doing business and enterprise.  This term we are going to sell something and before we start doing that we have been learning about different things to do with money. One of the tasks we got set was to find the meaning of income. Every table had a group and had to discus what the meaning of income is. We also had to think of some jobs we can do in the class to get paid on Banquer. ( Banquer is a website that teaches students to use money for the correct things such as paying bills and also teaches them about words to do with money).

Here is my meaning of income:

Income means earning money. Money can be earned in many different ways ( such as income from jobs). The money from income is money you can spend and rely on.

Here are some of the jobs I came up with for my class:

  • Pencil sharpener
  • Sports gear monitor
  • Rubbish monitor
  • Recycling monitor
  • Turtle monitor
  • Barista

Bacteria colours:

White = E.coli (poo bacteria)

                        Yellow/gold = Streptococci (throat infection)

Orange= (worse version of yellow)

Fuzzy/furry=  Food fungus

Smooth= bacteria

What is on the agar plate?

Venice's plate included fungus, e.coli, orange bacteria, streptococci. When I first looked at Venice's I noticed there was a lot of bacteria. The most disgusting part was the food fungus because it is fuzzy greenish blue bacteria.

Reading Plus

Greetings Readers!

Today I had reading plus once again, at the start I was getting bad scores but then I got one really good score. I got 90 percent, but when I went to read another story I got distracted and got 78 percent. So if I have time after school I might do some reading plus at home.

Here is my report:

What went well today:

I got 90 percent on a story!

What I found difficult today:

Focusing and getting comprehension questions correct.

What my goal is for next time:

My Holidays๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™‚

 Hello Readers!!!

In the holidays I spent a lot of my time talking to my best friend Amanda. We  had a lot of fun talking together on calls. Something interesting that happened was that we did yoga together virtually. One time when me  and Amanda were on a call and Tank (Amanda's dog) kept getting in front of Amanda's screen. Another thing we did together on a call was play roblox. Some games we played was club roblox, bloxburg, 3008, guilty and murder mystery. Almost everyday we had a call together and we had a lot of fun. My favourite part of the school holidays was spending time with Amanda even though it was virtually.

Thank you for reading, feel free to comment.
