Tim Prendergast πŸƒπŸ½

Salam (Greetings) Readers!

Today I completed another slideshow about a New Zealand Paralympian. I did it about another male this time because I couldn't find any females I wanted to do a slideshow about. It was very easy for me to complete this slideshow because I used a simple theme and found it easy to get information. This slideshow is about Tim Prendergast. Tim is was a runner for the NZ Paralympics team and competed at four different games. He wasn't the most famous Paralympian but he was a very good runner in deed. I hope you enjoy my slideshow.

Music through the Decades

 Hey Readers!

For the past few weeks in "Counting the Beat " we having being learning about famous singers and music. In this weeks lesson we focused on the change in music throughout the decades. My class watched a video about how the music has changed which included people singing. After we watched the video we had to get into no more then a group of four. My group which was Venice, Amanda and me.  Then make a presentation about the change in decades between 1900 to 2010, they all had to have a slide. In each slide it had to have the genre that was popular or new, a famous singer from that decade,  the clothing that was popular in the decade, a iconic item,  a famous song and a re released song ( if you could find one).

I then made a google slide and sent it to Venice and Amanda. Next we begun adding the information and facts. At first we got a bit confused but then we read what we needed to include in the slide and got the hang of it. Once we finished all the slides and checked if all the videos worked. We  also made the slide show have a specific theme, for example: my group theme was pastel colours and adding shade to the images etc.

Here is the video we watched :

Here is the amazing slide my group and I created:

Treaty of Waitangi

 Greetings Readers!

For the past three weeks in Hurumanu 1 we have been learning about how the treaty got made and signed. We firstly learnt about why the treaty was wanted, it was wanted because there were no rules back then and they were having lots of wars over who owns the land. Next we learnt about the chiefs and other people involved in the treaty and how it was written. We also learnt about the day it was signed by Māori and the British which was on the sixth of February 1840.

For our task we had to make a DLO ( digital, learning, object) answering some questions which were on the site, I firstly wanted to do a Biteable but then I forgot to answer all the questions. Instead I did the DLO in a google slide which was a simpler way for me. Next I  answered half of the questions on a google drawing, then transferred them onto a google slide as well as answering the rest of the questions. Two ways I got answers to the questions were: researching and going back on the site and reading it again.

The question that was challenging for me was: what were the effects on Mōari rights? I found it challenging because I couldn't really find a answer to it, I solved that problem by thinking of one. After I finished answering all of the questions I tried including one image in each slide to make it more interesting. The easiest part of this task was finding images to match the questions. What information do you know about the Treaty of Waitangi?

Here is my DLO:
