Shaping up- What I know so farπŸ“ŠπŸ“

 Hello Readers,

Shaping up is a subject I have had this year, it is about reading and maths. For the maths side of shaping up we have been learning about geometry. We got put into  four groups the groups are: Pizza, Nacho, Waffle and Chocolate. My group Waffle, has been learning about the transformation part of geometry. I learned about reflection, rotation, enlargement, and translation.

The specific parts I have learn't about for reflection is what changes when you put something up to a mirror, and how you reflect a shape without putting a shape up to a mirror. I learn't that rotation changes the shape quite a lot no matter how far you rotate it. Enlargement is when you make the whole shape bigger by using the squares on a maths book to help you. Translation is when you move a shape without rotating or changing anything about it.

Here is a example of enlargement:

Activity Six! Of WLJ

Kia Ora Readers! Continuing on with the "WLJ", Today I choose to do Activity Six it said to make a google drawing of your dream destinnation.  First I went onto drive and made a google drawing. Next I started to look on google to figure my dream destinnation. Once I found my dream destinnation I started to draw it. I also looked at the image to make sure it looked like it. For the drawing I used curved line, line, and scribble, shapes, etc.

Once I finished adding all of the different parts I added the background and moon. Making the black thing under bridge hard because the lines were complacating. Making the buildings and trees were verrrry easy. My dream destinnation is ......... Florida!

Five Reasons why I want to go to Florida!

1- I can go to disneyland,

2- Sanibel Island  because it looks like a really pretty beach, and watch the sunset.

3- Go on a boat and look around,

4- The water park called adventure island!

5- last but not least, it's mostly hot so I can experiance that because where I live it's quiet cold. So I would go in Winter.

Enjoy!

Tangram

Hey Readers!
Today in Miss Williamson's call for make it Monday we got to go onto a website where we got to make a puzzle sort of thing with shapes. And the word for it is called tangram, here is the link to the website: tangram.  So the first thing we needed to do was make one of the pictures on the website. I made a rocket, then we needed to make our on image. I also did some research about tangrams,.

Here is what I found out and in my own words.

The first tangram ever known made was in 1813, they were also originally made in china. From the olden days they were made from wood,  and they were like puzzles. With many flat triangles with different sizes you can make heaps of different things with it.

The hardest part of this activity was rotating the triangles  because it would be confusing. The easiest part was  thinking of what shapes to make a whole drawing. And for my own image I did a house with a small dog house. And for the one for using the example I did a rocket.

Please comment.

Activity 3: Hidden Figures

Hi readers! Sorry I haven't really been posting it's because i've been busy but I am catching up. Today for this activity I had to go on this coding website and I had to solve the code and on it I had to make all sorts of different shapes.check out the game here: code.org

I found it really challenging because it was difficult to solve the codes, I found it fun because it was my first ever playing a coding game! Also on the game each time you solve a code you move up a level and each time you move up a level it gets harder.

When I got to the fourth level I took a screenshot so you guys can kinda see what it looks like once you have finished a level. On the fourth level the shape is called a hexagon. I hope you enjoyed my post, feel free to comment.
