Hello Everyone!
Today in science we have been learning how to light a Bunsen Burner. We had to write a blog post with instructions. Then use the instructions we wrote to light the Bunsen Burner safely.
Aim: I want to find out how to SAFELY light a Bunsen burner.
Method:
- Safety glasses
- Lighter or matches
- Heatproof mat
- Bunsen Burner
Instructions:
- Get all of the equipment
- Put safety glasses on ( tie hair up, if long and take off any accessory or jackets).
- Connect the hose to the gas tap.
- Turn the collar to close the air hole.
- Place safety mat under neath Bunsen burner.
- Light your lighter/match over the Bunsen burner, and then turn gas on ( make sure your arm isn't over the Bunsen burner).
- If finished with the fire turn gas off.
