A Local Hero (Naeem Rashid)

Kia Ora Readers!

For the last two weeks in hurumanu 1 (heroes) we having being learning about local heroes. We learnt that no matter where you live there is always a role model or someone who helps your community which can be called a hero. The task Mr Mitchell set us for this week was to find a hero from either a person from the terror attacks or the big earthquake (which are natural disasters that has happened around me) . I choose terror attacks because it relates to my religion and who I am. We then had to find a hero involved in the issue and write a DLO about them which couldn't be on a google slide because Mr Mitchell said its very boring. I firstly researched about the heroes involved in the terror attacks on a website here is the website:Mosque heroes.

Once I finished researching I decided to make a Biteable which is a video that you can make with all sorts of different clips and designs. At the same as I was creating it I made sure I included what Mr Mitchell told us to include, which was: What did they do? What qualities did they show? Where were they? How did they get involved? Why did they get involved? Did they earn any bravery awards? And how has their life been affected? After I finished creating my video I made sure I included everything, I included some music and then exported it to make sure the video would be published.

Here is my biteable:

A local hero on Biteable.

What is a hero?

A hero is someone who would put others first over themselves.

You can be a role model and show what is right and wrong.

If you are a hero you will never give up and always persist.

You respect anyone no matter who you are and what you do even  you are different to anyone.

A hero always is helpful, brave, courageous and kind  to everyone.

The last way of telling someone what a hero is, is: "doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do" which is a quote I learnt from Mr Mitchell.
